We wanted to visit Kenya but had no idea for how long and which parks we wanted to visit. I reached out to several tour operators on social media and Spearman Travel was the first to respond. We started conversing and our agent was very prompt with her responses. To top it all off, she gave us endless safari options and accommodation options with links attached. At first we were very skeptical about booking with Spearman Travel because they barely had any reviews. The teams professionalism made us book with them. We even asked to see their documentation just to verify that they were a registered company and they had no problem doing so. Our personal agent explained that they were starting off and as a business owner I understood the position as they seemed sincere. Since it was our honeymoon we wanted everything to be perfect. We ended up booking 2 weeks bush and beach safari. This was in plan for months since October 2023 and they were was very graceful in the planning. All these months we kept in touch asked questions, asked for pictures, changed our itinerary a bunch of times, we even changed our travel dates twice and all this time the communication was still excellent. Our journey started off at the airport to Samburu. Edna and our tour guide Jack who also doubles up as the driver, were there waiting for us when we landed. The drive was pretty long but it was all worth it. We arrived in Samburu which is very hot by the way but we had already been advised on what to carry and wear during our safari. Jack allowed us some time to rest before starting the game drives. We saw herds of red elephants which was very breathtaking to say the least. We visited a bunch of places including Olpejeta which we had a night game drive which we enjoyed. Lake Nakuru and Naivasha were particularly divine. Jack was very patient with us because we are both photographers and whenever we needed to stop he would gladly do so. We saw all the big 5 in Masai Mara, the champagne breakfast after the balloon ride was also to die for. We witnessed a hunt which was quite a scene, thrilling and sad at the same time. Amboseli was very magical, almost like a dream come true. This park was one of the best, Mount Kilimanjaro in the background and endless herds of tuskers was quite magical. We visited Tsavo and finally ended up at the beach in Ukunda for a couple of nights. This was truly an adventure of a lifetime. Everything was well coordinated, the jeep was always clean and well maintained, Edna checked up on us after every two days just to ensure that everything was going on smoothly. We were picked on time and our guide Joseph was very professional, polite and very knowledgeable when it comes to wildlife. The highlight of our trip was the hot air balloon ride. What an experience!!! We thought it was a bit expensive at first but Miss Edna convinced us and I think that was the best decision we ever made. Edna customized our safari to fit all our preferences from the vehicle, accommodations and other activities. The communication was top notch, she was always available to answer our questions and advise on various things from beginning to end. The follow ups were very refreshing because we felt valued. The accommodations recommended were very nice especially Ashnil Mara. We truly enjoyed our stay there. Amboseli was also very beautiful and magical. If you visit Kenya please make sure you visit Amboseli. We also enjoyed a boat ride and a safari walk in lake navisha which was truly magical. In lake nakuru we opted to stay outside the park because the accommodations inside the park were a bit pricey. Tip: It is better to stay inside the park so you can have unlimited game drives. When you stay outside you can only enter once and when you leave you have to pay more park fees to have more game drives. They called it single entry.All in all our safari was amazing and we can’t thank our guide Jack enough for taking care of us and ensuring that our game drives were extra ordinary.
