Nairobi National Park is located just a short distance from the capital city, Nairobi. This proximity makes it one of the few national parks in the world located within a city’s limits, offering the convenience of experiencing wildlife without travelling far. Despite it’s small size, the park is hoe to a diverse array of wildlife including lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, rhinos and various antelope species. The parks open grasslands and acacia woodlands provide habitats for these animals. The park offers a one of a kind safari experience and is an ideal choice to those seeking a quick escape into nature, educational opportunities and a chance to support urban wildlife conservation initiatives.
Pick up from your hotel at around 0900 hrs and drive to the elephant orphanage, for the breathtaking experience of seeing baby elephants getting fed. This is also a chance for you to adopt the orphaned elephants.
This is combined with a visit to the Giraffe Centre, an educational centre and part of African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. The park has a small herd of Rothschild’s Giraffe which are an endangered species and you will get a chance to feed them. The Nairobi Giraffe center is located 15kms from the city center. The center was founded in 1978 to save the Rothschild Giraffe from extinction. From a safe specially constructed platform, you may hand feed and make friends with the majestic resident Giraffes. You then proceed to Karen Blixen Museum, an immensely popular tourist attraction; The museum’s beautiful wood-panned rooms are filled with interesting archaeological artifacts. You will wind up the tour with a visit to the Utamaduni Craft Center. Here you will see the work of local wood and stone artists and also get an opportunity to purchase some souvenirs.
Later drive back to your respective hotel or airport.
Pick up from your hotel or airport early the morning at 0700hrs and depart for Nairobi National Park. This unique wildlife sanctuary is just a few kilometres from Nairobi’s bustling city centre, but despite its proximity, different species of mammals can be found there, including four of the Big Five like Lions, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalos. Of the big five, only the elephant is absent. At around 10:30am you will check out of the park and drive to David Sheldrack to see baby elephants feeding time. Later you will drive to Galleria mall for a quick lunch.
After lunch drive towards Giraffe Centre to see and feed the famous Rothschild Giraffe and her family. This centre, which protects the highly endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, combines serious conservation with enjoyable activities. You can observe, hand-feed or even kiss one of the giraffes from a raised wooden structure, which is quite an experience. You may also spot warthogs snuffling about in the mud. Later you proceed to Karen Blixen Museum which was once the centre piece of a farm at the foot of the Ngong Hills owned by Danish Author Karen and her Swedish Husband, Baron Bror von Blixen Fincke. The farm house gained international fame with the release of the movie ‘Out of Africa’ an Oscar-winning film based on Karen’s an autobiography by the same title. Later in the evening drive to back to your respective hotels.
Early in the morning at 0900hrs, our professional tour guide will pick you up at your place of residence in a safari minivan. After a short briefing about your day, you will then proceed to the coffee farm arriving at 11 am. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with a cup of tea or coffee as the history of the farm and process of making tea is informally explained. Immediately after head out to the fields to see the endless acres of tea/coffee plantation. You will then proceed to take a walk in the indigenous forest with the resident guide, who will help in identifying the plants as well as explaining how they are traditionally used.
Make sure to be on the look out for the Colobus monkeys, get up close as you wander in the gardens which are home to a wide variety of birds and flowers.
Later on return to the ranch to enjoy a pre-lunch drink on the verandah with breath-taking views across the tea fields to the Ngong Hills. Lunch will then be served which is usually a three course buffet meal from the set menu, prepared with fresh vegetables from the garden and the desserts are topped with cream from the herd of Channel Island cows. After a scrumptious meal, head over to giraffe center for an enjoyable time feeding the giraffes. Later on drop off at your preferred location
Early morning pick up from Nairobi hotel at 07:00am and drive through the great rift valley escarpment. Have a stop at the great rift valley escarpment for pictures and bathroom break. Arrive in Naivasha where we have organized a boat ride. The lake sits over 6,000 feet, and is the highest lake in the Rift Valley and one of its most beautiful. Fringed by papyrus and with the extinct Mount Longonot as a backdrop, this is a wonderful place to watch and photograph birds. Over 400 species of birds have been seen in the Rift Valley and this offers great bird viewing opportunities. As you enjoy this wonderful bird life by boat around Lake Naivasha, you will get close to Cormorants drying their wings, Pink Backed Pelicans, Herons, colorful Kingfishers fish eagles, just to mention a few.
After the boat ride you will break for bike ride proceeding to Hell’s Gate National Park which is known for its interesting geology and the steam geysers that are found in some areas. The cliffs in the park provide ideal nesting and vantage points for many birds of prey. It is possible to hike down the gorge to the hot springs and one of our resident naturalists will be happy to accompany you on the walk. Afterwards you will have your late lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge and after drive back to Nairobi. Your estimated time of arrival will be at around 6 pm and your drop off will be at your respective hotels or airport.
Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or Airport early in the morning and depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru National Park which is a 3 hour drive. You will pass through The Great African Rift Valley escarpment for breathtaking views and photography as well as a bathroom break. Your estimated time of arrival will be 0900hrs. Check in at Lake Nakuru Sopa to pick up your boxed lunches. Afterwards head straight to the park which is among Kenya’s finest national parks. Flanked by rocky escarpments, pockets of acacia forest and at least one waterfall, the park is gorgeous all year-round and is home to both black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, hippos and endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. The southern end of the lake is the best place to see wildlife. The forested area below Flamingo Hill is a favourite lion-spotting point – lionesses love to sleep in the trees – while leopards frequent the same area, and are also sometimes seen around the Makalia Falls.
Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Have lunch in the park while still doing game drives. After game drives leave Lake Nakuru for Nairobi arriving late in the evening. Drop off at your respective hotel or Airport.
Pick up from your Mombasa hotel in the morning and drive to the tranquil fishing village of Shimoni, which is just 55 kms from Diani, close to the Tanzanian border. The scenic route takes you through lush coconut and cashew nuts plantations and the colourful villages of the Digo people. This is one of Kenya’s most popular snorkeling and diving boat safaris.
Upon arrival, you will sail to the enchanting seascapes of the Kisite Mpunguti Marine National Park in a traditionally wooden arab sailing boat. On your way, you will also get to enjoy the company of the resident dolphins in their natural habitat. Upon arrival, snorkellers will marvel at the incredible variety of marine life in the shallow and warm waters around Kisite Island which is also a known venue for numerous birds. We escort Scuba divers to explore a number of excellent dive sites, also teaming with an astounding variety of Marine life which inhabit the magnificent coral reefs in and around the park.
Afterwards we head to Wasini Island for a sumptuous Swahili style seafood lunch. Thereafter visit the traditional Muslim village before returning to your hotel late in the afternoon.
